Friends of the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy gathered for the second annual Pharmacy Alumni Association (PAA) & Wisconsin Society of Pharmacy Students (WSPS) Scholarship Golf Event on Friday, June 16, 2017. Returning to the popular University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wis., 78 golfers participated in the golf scramble with proceeds of approximately $11,000 benefitting UW-Madison pharmacy student scholarships and the WSPS travel budget—supporting student travel to state and national pharmacy meetings. “As a current student it is inspiring to see so many alums and friends of our pharmacy program contribute to our schooling and endeavors, and I am truly grateful,” said Connor Hanson, WSPS President. Three all-student teams were sponsored by the Dean’s office, PAA, and WSPS. Sponsorships, donations, and raffle prizes were provided by local pharmacies, community businesses, and individuals. In addition to the golfers, 13 UW-Madison pharmacy students volunteered with cash-only fundraising activities including blackjack and a putting contest. Participants finished the day with a taco bar dinner and raffle.
