Funded by the UW-Madison Graduate School Fall Competition, this is a longitudinal study that integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to have a better understanding of the factors influencing medication adherence behaviors among Blacks with type 2 diabetes.

Using the Integrated Theory of Health Behavior Change, phone/mail surveys and semi-structured interviews, the study intends to understand adherence changes among Blacks with diabetes, and identify the factors that can be modified to increase medication adherence.
