We invite prospective PharmD program applicants to participate in Mock Interview Day, hosted by the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy Student Ambassadors. Participants have the opportunity to practice interviewing in either a virtual or in-person format with current PharmD students.

Program Schedule:

  • 4:30 – 5:00 PM CST: Current PharmD Student Panel
  • 5:00 – 7:00 PM CST: Interviews (scheduled during this 2 hour block in 30-minute sessions)

The Office of Global Health and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion presents the panel discussion: Bridging Gaps: Disability Awareness and Patient-Centered Care in Pharmacy

Tuesday, October 29th at noon Room 2006

Event Description: This event aims to equip pharmacists and aspiring pharmacists with the knowledge to better assist patients with disabilities, promote healthcare accessibility, and reduce healthcare disparities. Following a movie preview on your own (the movie will be announced soon), join our panelists for a discussion on how to best interact with and provide healthcare to people living with disabilities.

Panelists:

  • Leslie Stilson, McBurney Resource Specialist: Lived experiences with visual impairment.
  • Elsa Thiel, high school student: Lived experience with Guillain-Barre Syndrome post vaccination.
  • Julie Thiel, PharmD and mother of Elsa. Lived experience advocating for her daughter.
  • Amy Elske, Aging Disability Resource Center. Resource specialist for people living with disabilities in Dane County.
