Targeting Protein-Protein Interactions for Drug Discovery
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) represent a large class of underexplored and very challenging therapeutic targets and have been considered undruggable. In the last 20 years, our laboratory has pursued the design and discovery of highly potent, specific and druglike small-molecule inhibitors of PPIs. Our research has led to the discovery of 6 compounds, now in clinical development for the treatment of human cancer and other diseases. In this seminar, I will present our most recent research in design and development of small-molecule inhibitors to target protein-protein interactions.
