Career “Roundtable” with distinguished alumni Roger Tung, PhD’87

This is an informal “career roundtable” discussion hosted by the Graduate Studies Office at the School of Pharmacy and intended for graduate students and postdocs in the School’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Division. If planning on attending, please RSVP to Ken Niemeyer (kenneth.niemeyer@wisc.edu). The featured guest will be Roger D. Tung, president and chief executive officer of Concert Pharmaceuticals in Lexington, MA. Previously, Dr. Tung was a founding scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (1989-05), rising to Vice President of Drug Discovery. Prior to Vertex, he held various positions at Merck, Dohme Research Laboratories, and the Squibb Institute for Medical Research. Dr. Tung received his B.A. in chemistry from Reed College in 1981 and a PhD (1987) in Medicinal Chemistry (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. He is in Madison to receive an honorary UW-Madison “citation of merit” for his lifetime achievements.
