2019 Hutchinson Lecture
Join us on April 5 at 3:30pm for Dr. Janet Smith’s Hutchinson lecture, “Natural Product Biosynthetic Enzymes: Not All Domains Are What They Appear to Be”.
Janet Smith studies the structure and function of natural product biosynthetic pathways and the activity and selectivity of enzymes that catalyze unusual biosynthetic reactions. She is Margaret J. Hunter Collegiate Professor in the Life Sciences and Professor of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan, and Scientific Director of GM/CA@APS, a macromolecular crystallography facility at the Argonne synchrotron. She holds degrees in Chemistry (BS, Indiana University of Pennsylvania) and Biochemistry (PhD, University of Wisconsin–Madison).
