Barretto selected to present at the AAAAI Annual Meeting

Pharmacology-Toxicology senior Karina Barretto has been selected to provide an oral presentation at the 2016 American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) Annual Meeting. Barretto, from New Berlin, Wis., will discuss “Human Airway Epithelial Cells Express Functional IL-5 Receptors” on March 7 in a 10-minute oral abstract session featuring work in basic science. Barretto has studied in the laboratory of Professor James Gern, Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine, for the past five semesters, via enrollment in research. In addition, Barretto’s abstract was published in the February 2016 online supplement to The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. The AAAAI Annual Meeting was held March 4-7, 2016 in Los Angeles, Calif.
