Erv Dohmen entered the School of Pharmacy upon completion of service in the US Navy during World War II. He graduated with a BS Pharmacy degree in 1950, continuing his employment with the F. Dohmen Company of Germantown, Wisconsin, a distributor of pharmaceuticals and health and beauty aids. He devoted his entire career to the development of the F. Dohmen Company into one of the largest companies of its kind in the country. From 1982-1990, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors. Erv served as Chair of the National Wholesale Druggists’ Association, and was selected in 1990 to receive the Merck, Sharp and Dohme award for outstanding achievement in the profession of pharmacy. He is a former president of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Alumni Association, and served on the School of Pharmacy’s Board of Visitors from 1989-1994. He has also been active in community affairs, as a member of the School Board of Nicolet High School, the Rotary Club of Milwaukee and the Salvation Army Advisory Board, which awarded him a Certificate of Life Membership in 1997.
